Do you have a manual for the motor, it will give a list of reccomended props for that motor. It will depend on the boat that it is on, weight of load, etc... There are a few good websites , start here on iboats.

Also try craigslist.org, for props in your area.

How deep are the chips? If your prop has any small nicks and burrs and you want to dress them up DO NOT USE A FILE. Instead, use sand paper or emery cloth. A file leaves tungsten carbide imbedded in the prop and makes reconditioning or welding at a later time harder to do. It doesn't take much to throw a prop out of balance, and an out of balance prop will destroy a lower unit. If the nicks are deep, consider having the prop reconditioned.

My OMC/BRP dealer rebuilds the props for I think around $75 for that size a prop. They come out looking brand new as they paint them also. Of course you can probably buy a cheaper one somewhere also but it might have nicks in it also... In fact I have spares available...

Also try the aomci.org classifieds website... they'll be cheaper there than ebay...

How far upstate NY are you?
