The storm that went through here last night and this moring was really a good one, lots of rain and way too much wind.
Bellingham Cold Storage weather site by the water @ Bellingham Bay recorded wind at 84 mph at about 1030 am this morning. Now the sun is trying to come out and wind is calming down.
I heard on the news that there about 15K people who lost power, not bad for an early storm. Get the trees down now before the cold weather gets here.

We got hit hard up here also on the north end of the island. My neighbors skiff boat got tossed around his back yard.

Re: Northwest Weather

I saw some of the TV reports and video tonight, there was really quite a bit of damage and some still do not have thier power restored. Lots of trees down. With previous rain, the ground was soft and you see a lot of root balls where the tress came right out of the ground.

Your welcome tash. It was funny at work i had this small gen set that looked like a peace of crap. Everyone never gave it a second look right up until i got it up and running " did some of my best McGivering". Now this ugly duckling gen set was one of the most popular peaces of equipment in the shop.

Re: Northwest Weather

GSS.....we got the same treatment up here on Vancouver Island. I think the storm knocked out power to about 75000 people supposedly. All up now I think...until next time.
Luckily the power in our neck of the woods is all underground so, as of yet, we haven't been hit by any power failures. Plus we are on the same grid as the local hydro office...so I think they prioritize that one and thus we get to ride the good maintenance for free...yay!!
Bellingham......we can almost see you guys from here if it wasn't for the Gulf/San Juan Islands.
Supposedly we are in for another long, wet winter....crap!!
