I sucked weeds!!!!

Ok guys i'm kinda new here and have only a few posts under my belt but I have a quick question to ask. I have a 07 grizzly tracker with a merc 50 4-stroke on it which is also an 07. I took it out for my first duck hunt this past weekend and sucked up some weeds in the motor and it quit peeing so I cut the motor off and trolled out into deeper water and then turned the motor on again and gave it some gas and it started peeing again. Well I got where i needed to go with the motor peeing the whole time and I hunted untill after lunch. Well when I left to go back to the boat ramp again sucked weeds and it quit peeing. I cut the motor off and trolled back to deeper water and tried to force it out again but it didn't start peeing but the motor cut off by itself and I just left it off and trolled back to the boat ramp. Well I got it home and hooked the water hose to it and started the motor and it was kinda misting water and I looked where the water sprays out and there was a weed stem in it and I pulled it out and it started to pee fine so I ran it for about 5 or 10 mins and it seemed to run great. No alarms went off and it seemed to run fine at home so my question is do you guys think I did any damage to anything? any info would be awsome becuase i'm just worried about my new motor and dont want to ruin anything.

If the motor didn't seize and it's running fine I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it, the impellar may have suffered a bit, they become very fragile in these circumstances, keep an eye on it, if the pump doesn't seem to be working as efficiently replace the impellar. Was there any steam coming from the head, I would think your alarm would have gone off long before it came to that, if it did , replace the head gasket and resurface the head on some 400-600 grit wet sandpaper.

Thanks for the info but I really think i'm just being paranoid becuase I have been running water through it at the house every other day and letting it run for about 10 mins and no warning alarms and no smoke so I guess it fine. I am going to take it out to the lake on sunday and run it real good and if all goes well on the lake then I think it will atleast help me feel better about it lol. But she seems to be peeing fine and like I said no warning alarms or anything so I'm hoping it's okay.

I plugged up a v6 2 smoke with algae and weeds. It got me home OK, water pressure was wacky, and peed cold at idle, steam at WOT.

I wound up cleaning out the t-stats and poppit valve, as well as some small water passages in the exhaust chest.

This was massive amounts of really gooey chit I got into. I don't think you'll have any trouble.

Get a high thrust trolling motor with a weed resistant blade on it, and chew your way in to the fish. Leave the main motor up out of the water.
