Fast strike vs gt

Im looking at a 1990 boat with a Johnson Fastrike 150. My brother in law has a 1990 Ranger with a GT 150. What are the differences?

Night & day. A crossflow vs. a 60* looper. A chugger vs. a zinger.

The 1990 boat must have (at least) a 1991 150.

Please ellaborate which is the looper? Which is better? My brother in law has not been happy with his GT150. Is the faststrike newer than 1990?

GT=crossflow

Fastrike=looper.

As Dhadley best said: Crossflow is a chugger, Fastrike is a zinger. Both had their endearing qualities. Both were high quality engines.

The Fastrike/looper is more modern technology.
