Re: Looking for a Welder / Generator

My father " who is a electrician bye trade" was telling me to get a minimum of a 3000watt generator and that would be just large enough to keep most of the house going. So depending what you had in mind i would go up from there. Honda make a good gen sets.

Ayuh,.......

Either the Linclon Ranger or the Miller Bobcat will easily power your Whole house,.......
Possibly even an electric Hotwater Heater or Stove.......
I Think they're at about 10kw on the AC side.......
Course if you Don't have an Electric HWH, or Stove,.....
You could power the Whole house,+ Still lay down a Bead..................

Re: Looking for a Welder / Generator

I run a Miller Trail blazer 301 10,000 watts electrical 110 and 220 volt taps and the welder is on an isolated circut. I can run the whole house including eletric Stove, dryer, water heater and still run beads with no problem at all. This is how I talked the wife into letting me buy the Trail Blazer. So far I've only had to hook it up to the house one time for about 7 hours BTW the welder is 6 years old now. And has served me very well, absolutly no problems with engine (Onan) or generator a great machine. But most folks can get by with a lot less machine than this. I do have a good used 6.5kw onan generator(from a motorhome) I would sell if you're interested shoot me a PM. The shipping might be a factor as we're not nextdoor nieghbors.

That'll do the job at hand with power to spare you can even run you little mig off of it if ya need to. Those are proven machines and I do mean proven not just tested. If you purchase one of these ya wont be sorry. But before ya buy it check online and find the best price print it out and carry that to your (LWS) local welding supplier. Find out what the best deal is from your LWS if thier higher than the online price show to them. Most dealers around here will give you the same deal as online plus now you'll have someone to deal with in person.

Ayuh,........

I Agree 100%...........

The outfit I work for had a Miller Bobcat that wasn't New when I happened along 15/ 16 years ago,..........
God knows How many hours are on it,.......I know I have,+ still do run it alot....
I think it would be Handier if it were a dedicated Trailer, rather than craneing it on,+ off the truck.......
It Is a rather larger machine........
