Hey i have comcast cable internet now and im not a cable TV customer and my internet bill is about 79 a month. Is there any other company i can get cable internet through? I know that comcast owns the lines but ive heard of other companies leasing the lines and providing internet service through the same lines. Anyone know of any options that i might have??? I am happy with the service except the bill. I cannot get service through the phone company. Im looking for any options that i might have! thanks a lot guys!

Are there any wireless broadband outfits in your area, drewmitch?

My WB IP is about $35/mo.

maby you can get a bundle deal from your current provider. i get my cable tv and highspeed internet for 80 a month one of my freinds has there home phone cable and internet from the same company for like 5 dollars a month more in a package deal. so maby you can save money by going with more servaces from the same company and consolidate your bills at the same time

Re: Cable Internet

Ok I called My cable internet Provider and they are giving me a 12 month package deal. She said it is normally for people that currently have cable through them but for 33 a month im getting 16 MBPS down and 3 MBPS up. I was getting like 28 down and 6 up. Thats all i need i guess. I just downloaded a 700 MB movie and it took like 30 min. Thats not bad. It used to only take only 10 min or so. Used to be that my download was faster than my 52 X cd burner would burn. At least im not getting DSL that is slow at less than a MBPS. they offered like 768 kbps or something like that.

My DSL is 1500 -1600 kbps. We have no option of cable or much of anything else and it works fine for our family. They dsl is about 35 a month for it but worth it compared to the dial up at 20-25 a month. No complaints so far.

That's what you should do in our area. One company offers digital cable, digital telephone and high speed internet. If you bundle, you will save. You can even keep your old phone number.

Re: Cable Internet

Ours was 60 per month and if we signed up for basic cable we got both for a total of 50 bucks through comcast. Seemed weird to get both for cheaper then only one till they hook you up with full cable then after 6 months they put you back to basic and say they accidentally hooked you up with the deluxe service then your kids start screaming "What happened to Disney and Nick" then you get rehooked back up and then you pay 100 dollars a month. Cool thing about comcast is you have 25 megs of online storage so if you like to post pictures you dont need a site like photo bucket or my fishing pic dot com.

Re: Cable Internet

I know you made your move but if I did not work for a ISP I would have got verizon. I spend a lot of time outside my house. I probably use my BlackBerry for internet access everyday. I would love the ability to use my laptop instead. I was seriously considering getting the card last year but after the company made a few changes that have impacted me economically I decided not to as I would have to pay it out of my pocket. If they need me know they will have to wait until I can get back to my house or any of the sponsored wifi sites.
