OMC 5.0L info

Hey guys - does anyone know a site that provides dating/general info for OMC engines? Where can I find the numbers on the engine/drive itself? I'm kinda interested in what I have...

Thanks for pointing out my obtuseness! Ok, here is what I found:

bottom of outboard - 13 912391

placard near inboard steering joint - Model - 987090, S/N - T00318882

numbers on intake manifold - D50E-8426-AA. The five may be an 8 and the last "A" may be a 4, it's hard to tell.... I couldn't see anything else on the engine.

It looks like you've at least found the stern drive model... I didn't see the OMC engine model there though.

The Model # is usually on a sticker that is on the thermostat housing. You may be able to decipher it by calling an Evinrude dealer with the other #s you got off the stern drive and the transom mount. The other thing you can do, is go over to www.dougrussell.com and look at the diagrams for the engines, OMC used that Ford 5.0 with Cobras from 1990-1993 and beyond with the joint venture models, so if it's the pure OMC drive, with a Ford 5.0, then it is probably from 90--93.

Oh yeah, I just found my model number the other day... when looking at the engine from inside the boat, it was to the right of the carb on the inside of a valve cover. Might of not been as easily noticable if the flame arrestor was still on. But mines 1993, what year is yours?
