1970 evinrude 85 hp

I have a 1970 evinrude 85 hp model 85093d. I just now bought me another 85 hp rude boat trailor and all for three hundred. The model number of this motor is 85293r. I know it must be a 69 through 72 as it has the selectric lower in.

Can some one telll me the exact Year?

Thanks, I bought the boat just for a spare motor but i like the bo:at and may fix it up. The trailor is in a lot better shape than mine too. The guy said the motor was running and then quit getting fire so I will start working on it in a day or so and see if I can get it running. I am really happy as now I have a spare motor

What is the first thing you guys would do if it was not getting fire? I figured I will check out the wiring and make sure it is just not the ignition switch or something simple.
