Well you can move the RPM's up a little that should do it. If it is at say 600 now raise it to about 800. Raising the rpm's up should increse your idling i would think.

The idle speed screw is on the whats called the towershaft on the starboard side of your motor. There is a throttle link that goes from the throttle cam to the towershaft. The idle speed screw is just above this link. Loosen the cinch nut and adjust this screw to 750 rpm in gear. If it were me I'd probably go through the entire carb link and sync proceedure, it's not that difficult and is explained very well in any manual, even the Seloc! If you don't have a maintenance manual the Clymer is recommended for Force, or you could get lucky and find an original Force manual on ebay. Good luck, let us know how you fair!

Understand that you sync the timing and carbs at 0 deg. When you raise the idle speed using the adjustment screw, the timing also advances a degree or two. SO: a properly adjusted engine with a proper idle speed will usually not have an idle timing of 0 degrees. More than likely, it will be 1 or 2 degrees.

Because the timing advances with the adjusting screw, only small amounts of adjustment are necessary--usually 1 turn ot less IF everything else is within specs.

Also note that the idle speed is dependent upon prop pitch. With the same setting, a 17 pitch prop will idle at a slightly higher speed than a 19 pitch. So, for example, if you normally run a 19 pitch prop and switch to a 17 for water skiing, the idle will be slightly higher, then return when you re install the 19.
