My parents own a houseboat which is too heavy to lift in the boatstall its in so it stays in the water. I went down to check on it and noticed the wire to the transducer on the pontoon was off at the transducer. I don't know if it was caught with a bait and just pulled off, or if age (it's been in the water nonstop for about 7-8 years) just basically deteriorated it off. Its in fresh water, but the scum on it was so thick it looked like green hair going down toward a transducer which had its own green hair! LOL

The thing is 40 bucks so I'd like to know if you think it's vandalism or just age.

if it was vandalism they would have done more, than just pull the wire off. you need to take that boat to shallow water, some stiff brushes and clean the toons.

My parents are fixing to pull it out to change the water pump. When we take it to the beach my dad always cleans them with a brush and soap. It's a tradition in our family, that's something he enjoys and the beach is a perfect place to do it.

We're going to shine up the toons and replace the 'ducer. That's why we are looking into it now, so when it's out of the water we can replace it.
