Saw a similar thread about a beeping problem. Mine is a little different though in that mine is a solid beep. I know that this is usually caused by an overtemp. My engine will get the solid beep when putting out of the marina or just sitting idling while getting ready to go out. Sometimes I just shut the motor down and then turn it right back on and never have a problem the rest of the day. I have run the motor a good 20 miles one way after the alarm goes off and never had an issue, knock on wood. In fact it's every time I got out the alarm comes on, I either shut down the motor or rev it up and the alarm goes away and it doesn't come back on for the rest of the day. I get the beep once in the morning, do a shut down or rev it up then it's gone?!. The engine has never seemed at all hot and in some cases not even warm. Water comes out the pee hole just fine, and the water temp never is really that warm?.

Suggestions?

THank you

Sounds like an old impeller that has taken a set, when was the last time it was replaced?

I actually replaced it last spring. But, later last summer while out in the boat a fishing partner raised the motor up out of the water for maybe 30 sec+/-.. The beeping didn't start happening for a week or two after that. I was thinking that may have damaged the impeller? I would have thought if it was the impellor the beeping would be a little more consistent though? Not just turning off the motor then turning it back on to get rid of the alarm? I never get the alarm at higher speeds only while idling or going about trolling speed out of the marina...

Probably better to be safe than sorry though..

After 30 seconds, i'm sure you have an impeller problem.
When the vanes get overheated like that, they don't uncurl as much and pump little water when turning slow, but they do work better at higher rpm.

I think I'll pick up a kit on the way home and swap it out. Actually, I think I'll grab my fishing bud who raised the motor and have hime pick one up on his way home!

Thanks and I'll post after I get it replaced and test out..

So, I replace the pump and that seemed to do it. Ran it a few times this weekend and she was running like a champ, no more beeping.

Thanks again
