I take it to mean selling stock in the company. Might be worth looking into as I am starting to see a few E-tec s around, not many but they are showing up. White cowl, think they are RUDE branded. Very quiet. Have a lot of catching up in sales to do. Mostly MERCS and YAMAHAs around FRED

Buying stock in a recreational product company, with an uncertain economy? I'll pass.

Last I saw Canadian currency was even exchange, has this caused price jumps in BRP products made north of the border?

I actually took it to mean selling products direct to consumer, bypassing dealers. Usually this still means no bargins, because prices will be MSRP to protect the dealers.

the reason for this is that Merc is owned by Brunswick, which owns some 27 brands of boats, that are required to have merc/mercruiser as a package. forced sales, if you want the boat.

Point well made on buying into a recreational products company. Market gurues would factor that into the price. Everything today is a crap shoot. Bombadier has an excellent reputation on their aircraft and locomotive business but believe the o/b motor business was taken off the product fold, is a stand alone line now. Not sure but I think I heard the JOHNSON line is being dropped.
As for captive brands on hulls, most I see around here is repower, not to many new boats around. Salt water takes its tolls. Only know of one rude dealer around, SUZUKI appears to be coming on strong for repowering. Might be hard for RUDE to get their product placed. Dont really know the business. regards FRED

yes, Johnson is being dropped for awhile, BRP, is focusing on the Etec 2 stroke technology, the Johnson 4 strokes were redressed Suzuki's.
