now you know the reason i live in Florida. i'll take a hurricane any day over that. buy the way, Jacksonville, geographic location is one of the fewest hit places for Hurricanes, we get the edge of them, but no direct hit, in over 100 years.

the really bad storms head this way, and for some reason, peter out before they get here. as the storms this last week 100miles north, south. and west got hit hard, it is suppose to have something to do with the location, the curve of the Fla coast line, and the Gulf Stream.

Maybe I need to move to Lakeshore; those 3 'canes in 05 took out my power for a week and a half.

I'll take a bit of virgin white snow with beautiful summers over any Florida summer.Besides,Upstate NY has not been hit by a hurricane since the Seneca indians discovered this great piece of real estate.

I'm with Rolmops on this one. I was in Jacksonville once....loved the local fresh fruit standas and the warmer spring days...but not my all time perfect destination.
