compression gauge question

i wanted to purchase a compression gauge. can i pick one up at the auto store or are there specific ones for outboard motors?

Any will work. Get the screw in type that has the proper size and thread depth (compare with your spark plug), or buy a kit that has changeable ends on it.

Hi,

pull off the ignition wires. Actuate at each cylinder the starter a few seconds. The cylinders should not have differences more than 1 bar oder 14,5 psi.

Ground the coil wire if you have electronic ignition..
