i see they have very well priced engines, and was wondering if there was a catch?
they sound good, but has anybody dealt with them?

Do a search, you will find many threads on RAPIDO.
Top notch guy. Good value.

other than intermittent problems people seem to report (and ones that seem to have been handled), they seem to do a decent job.

I bought a 4.3 longblock from them last year... and it's still going strong after ca. 40 or 50 hours. I would buy again.

I would recommend them. I ordered a 5.7L (350) Vortec Long Block, they mistakenly installed heads from a 305. Raul sent me the correct heads and replaced them. They will definitly work with you and their shipping charges are very reasonable. I have only ran the engine in the driveway but seemed fine after I installed it.

Nice to see you're still reading here Raul :)

My rapido motor is currently winterized and waiting for spring... I got a 350 V8 for my Sea Ray. Runs like a top, and isn't even fully broken in yet. I look forward to giving it a workout this summer.

I don't remember specific details, but remembed Raul was reasonable on pricing to include vortec heads, roller cam, electric fuel pump kit, etc... on the 4.3 I ordered from them last summer... It has a little over 45 hours on it now and is running like a top...

I had sort of a strange experience today... I remember going to lunch early... and the next thing I remember.... I was skipping across the crests of light chop at about 55 mph, 4700 rpm... fresh lube in the outdrive, new oil and filter, timing set / checked, new plugs (after burning out fogging oil) all somehow made it into place... Never blacked out and that before... musta been the extreme temp swing to almost 80 here today... Think I need to seek medical help? :(

Eventually backed down to about 50 and ran that way for something like 30 or 40 miles before even thinking about turning aroound...

Oh and the 4.3 from rapido? Oil pressure needle stayed right about 75-80 psi... water temp evened about 160-165...

...and now I'm sittin here at the office figuring out what work reeeally has to be done for tomorrow...

I'm not sure the offer is still open, but Raul did say he'd give a 10 percent discount to folks from iboats... search the boards for the offer:)

He's a good guy to deal with.
