Guys, I trying to pulll of a 8ft VHF antenna off of a boat that I am restoring. The issue is at the end of the cord is a PL-259 connector that will not fit through the hole. I have not been able to fully dissassembe the connector so I am wondering do I just cut the wire and buy an new connector to add to it when I reinstall the antenna or is there a way to take it apart. I am attaching a link with the type of connector that I think am talking about. thanks

Cut it! While IMO the gold ones are a rip, it will do what you need. I still solder mine... but I'm used to it!

The center conductor is soldered in. But like already said, cut it off and put a new one on.
