There are four connections on a tach. 1) Ground, 2) +12V when key is on, 3) light (if the tach has one), and 4) tach sense. If you check you control box, below the key switch, there is a three pin connector there. That connector accepts the tach harness. The only other connection is the light and you can simply connect the light terminal on the tach to the light terminal on any of the other gauges. The tach will not include the harness but you can order that at the same time.
