smart tabs are the best investment for the money on any boat. you will have no problems with the sx series.

just a resolution note on this:

1. i talked with john and he recommended mobster tabs with 60lb actuators.
2. he recommended installing the tabs directly below where the tie-town ubolts are on the transom

i followed his instructions and it worked great. i still use the tie-down bolts but had to move the tie-down points on the trailer toward the outside of the trailer. my boat planes a lot faster: the tabs are working as advertised. very good investment.

thanks

Don;

Have you had the boat out yet? When you do please make sure that you have them tuned correctly. The boat should run a few miles per hour faster. I do not expect you to run at this speed often however it indicates that the tabs are tuned correctly and also allows you to get maximum fuel efficiency improvement. The improvement will be most noticable between 2200 RPM's and 2800 RPMs, but over all you should see between 10% and 12% improvement. If the pressure is set too high, then the extra stern lift will push the bow down (typical with hydrofoils) and cause the boat to loose top speed. The goal is to run smoother and faster at each RPM level. Any questions call 800-233-0194

the first time i was out, they were tuned a little low (less pressure and too small an angle). the boat planed a little faster, but not to my liking. it was hard to measure the angle when i installed them. but, the next time out i increased the pressure and angled them down a little more. that made a huge difference. the boat planes a lot better. i didn't have my gps with, so i'm not sure about top end. it doesn't seem any worse at wot, but i'll check it out.

thanks again!
