Starboard Cooling Obstrustion?

It's time to summerize the boat, YEA! I started it on the muffs and noticed most of the water was coming out the port side, below the outdrive and the thru-hull exhaust. The starboard side below the outdrive was coming out, but not as much and there was none come out the starboard thru-hull exhaust. I got in the boat and felt the port exhaust riser and it was cold (74F) but the starboard side was hot (~130F)... The engine ran fine and came up to temp and stabilzed at ~160F. Am I being paranoid or should investigate a blockage and if so, where should I start?

Thanks for your help!

So, when was the last time you changed the raw water pump impeller in the outdrive?

unequal water out of the exhaust relief on the muffs is normal, sometimes the riser temp difference is normal on the muffs.
water tends to take the path of least resistance and distance.
if its saltwater cooled and over 3 years old its time for an inspection. otherwise I would seatrial it and monitor the riser temps.

Re: Starboard Cooling Obstrustion?

Thanks for the responses... I will look at the riser temps on my first time out and see if there is a difference.

To make sure I understand the cooling system, when the engine is cold (thermostat closed), almost all of the water from the impeller is just routed out the risers. Once the thermostat opens, it opens the return path from the block and so now, almost all of the water is pulled by the engine pump through the block and out the risers?

Thanks-

Ayuh,....

Regardless of whether the T-Stat is calling for water or Not,....
The Raw water supply should be More than the motor needs,+ All excess, as well as the heated water is dumped thru the Risers....
