need help please

i have a 1999 volvo penta 5.7 with throttle body injection at 3000 rpms the one injector shuts off i switched wires from one side to the other and found that its the one set of wires not the injector does anyone no why its shutting off i did find on the coil ....theres the one wire that goes to the distributer cap is good. but theres 2 other wires 12 gauge that has plugs on them that goes into the coil and one wire is hangin on with 2 strands can this be the problem???????????

sounds like its going into protection mode... check your oil pressure/sender and check your temp and temp senders...

If you have a wire that's hanging on with two strands it definitely needs to be repaired. Is this the pink or purple wire?

check the riser temps if equipeped with temp switches in the risers, check the actual engine temp and the temp switch on the engine, the switch is NOT the sender. then test the oil presure switch, there again the switch is NOT the sender, something is triggering the overheat/low oil pressure alarm and shutting down one injector limiting RPM to about 2500.
its the ECU is trying to alert you that is gonna die.
you should be getting an audible tone if the horn was actually installed and still working.
if the engine temp is ok and the engine oil pressure shows normal I would dissconnect the oil pressure switch, located on the port side of the block just above the oil filter adapter, and retest then if needed the same with the temp switch.
