Repainting a 1978 Mercury 500-50 (blue Band) and I will be needing some new engine decals as the old ones are very aun faded. Any ideas on whrer to get these old decals?

Re: Engine Decals

I don't think they make them anymore. I know the ones for my '74 are unavailable.

I made my own by ordering the lettering from an online vinyl shop, painted the blue bands, and purchased some silver pinstriping from autozone. Total cost was about 80$.

You can see the results here:

Another option would be to go to your local graphics shop and have them custom create. I know some shops already have the templates for certain OB's of certain years.

Triad.

Awesome job!

I've gone to vinyl cutters and done the same thing. No pics though ...

You wouldn't by chance remember the on-line outfit you went through to get them?

Re: Engine Decals

try this guy - email him... his name is Paul - CNCSigns@yahoo.com

I just took some pics of my decals, gave him the dimenstions and he shipped me new decals that I'm 110% happy with - and the guy did this in one day!

I recommend him highly

For the life of me I can't remember all of the fonts for the lettering. It's one of those deals where you pick the color, font size, etc. You have to measure the length and height of each whole word from your old ones and put that in.

If I had it to do over again I'd probably go the route of alanandchris ^^^^
