What's the best place to find prices for boats? Is there a Kelly Bluebook for boats? I'm looking at a 2002 or 03 Sea Ray 185 and I'm trying to find out what the resale price would be.

Re: Boat prices

I used to own the 03 version of the boat you are looking at and sold it to a close friend when I bought a 220 Select last year. What are the features/conditions/hours and what is the price they are asking?

It should have the 220hp V6 (4.3mpi), stainless steel prop, bimini, CD, speakers, etc.

Nada boat values will get you close but it usually depends on the market and what they are selling for at present time.

nada boats is grossly overrated. highly inaccurate, there are too many variables with boats.

Nada is the only real "guide" to check online, unless I don't know about others.

What I do is go on Yachtworld and search that type of boat. Being a newer Sea Ray there should be a bunch of them on there.

Re: Boat prices

I do not use a guide. They don't hit on much. I go to the iboats classifieds and also boatrader.com and search the specific boat I am buying/selling. This allows me to see what people are asking for the same model in my area and across the country. Keep in mind that due to the economy, prices are extremely negotiable now...at least around here.

Like everything else, it's worth what you can get for it. Around here boats are worth about 2/3 what they were six months ago.

I agree that nada can be inaccurate and a little overated but it gives you an idea of what it could be worth. You can look in Craig's list or Boat Trader to get a better idea of what boats are selling for in your area and it's proably the best way to figure out what your boat could be worth.

Get a copy of Boat Trader for the area you live in. Pricing is extremely location dependent.
