hi, ok i cut the deck out til i found good hard wood and im going to let the stringer dry .i pulled this off another thread(All sides of the plywood should be sealed, and pre coat all the wood with resin before doing any glass work, if you don't the wood can suck resin out of the glass and leave dry spots) if im reading this right i need to resin both sides of the deck and glass only the top?
thanks vinlandviking

Re: deck sealing

If you use epoxy, yes. If you use polyester resin (like bondo resin in a can) then you need to use glass, since the resin will crack over time otherwise.

If your stringers got wet but did not rot, you'll want to treat them with antifreeze (glycol) before sealing them up, since they will have fungus spores at this point in them, and you're not going to get the moisture content low enough without a wood kiln to stop them growing.
