Yamaha 115 /4 Didn't shut down

Well we had it out yesterday and ran great. When we went to shut down motor kept running. All gauges shut down and motor ran smooth like nothing happened. Even drove it for a bit with key totally out and safety clip pulled. Had to fish for 3 more hours just to think about it
Back at dock was showing a friend and it shut down like normal. (Hate it when it does that ) What should I be looking for if it happens again ??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

either the main relay is sticking or the ECU is failing.
next time it does it remove the electronics panal cover and tap the relay with a screwdriver handle, if it shuts on down then replace the relay.
the shut down sequence is odd on that motor.
the ECU actually shuts it down not the stop signal.
but if the main relay sticks it wont power down the ECU so the engine will continue on like nothing happened,

Is my F100 controlled the same? I have reved the motor and dropped the throttle and it shut down. I have also bumped the trim switch and it shut down. I don't remember, which relay is the main..... top?
