Charging problems

I have a 2004 60hp model merqury out board while boating recenty I had charging dramas. The battery was not receaving any charge from the charge circuit im just not 100 percent on how I would go about testing to find the faulty part or parts could you shine soom light on this for me

Check the rectifier it's propbably bad heres the test

either the rectifier regulator or the actual charge coils.. check your service manual for voltage specs and how to test.. test with a DVA. charge coils should be 100-300v at the red/yellow wires. and rectifier output should be about battery voltage.. anywhere from 9-15v is acceptable.

Lets start simple. What is the voltage at the battery with engine not running? What is the voltage with the engine running? Have you cleaned all connections and grounds?
