2hp yamaha problems

hi,

i have a 2hp yamaha outboard and opened the head up to chenge the gasket and cleanb water passage.anyway i bought a new gasket and noted that there is a metal circle ring in the center but from one side it is bigger than the other. which side should be facing the cyliders the side of the gasket with the largest ring or that side should be facing the head? thanks for your reply.

You need to tell us the year and complete model of your motor.
