I have a 1981 V4 140hp and one side of the lower trim cylinder(or ram i suppose) seals is leaking. A: is there a special tool for the 4 holed cap that the ram slides through and B: is there a seal kit for this unit.

thanks

First and foremost.......Welcome to iBoats!!!!

The tool you need to remove the endcaps is a face pin spanner wrench. Look them up on ebay. Yes, you can purchase the seals right here at iBoats. Have a look at your parts diagrams via the link below and jot down the parts numbers then come back and look them up. Here's the link and instructions to view the diagrams.............

O.K........ Click here............ http://www.brp.com/en-US/Related.Products/Parts.htm

Now....... Under the "Parts Heading" click on "Visit the site now".

Next...... Click on the green check mark in the box located in the top right hand corner and select "View Parts Catalogs"

Now....... Click on the "Go" button beside the box, again in the upper right hand corner of your screen, that says "Evinrude".

Now...... Select the appropriate folders for your year, horsepower, and model number to view the parts lists and exploded diagrams.
