Hit something then trim stopped working

While trolling, outdrive hit bottom or some obstruction underwater. Did minimal damage to the prop. But as soon as I tried to raise the drive up I had no response from the pump. I know I need to check with a volmeter when I get home to see if the pump is getting juice. But does it make sense for this to knock out the trim pump? Could fluid have binded up resulting in what seems like no power to it?
BTW, its no fun to dive underwater in order to manually raise the drive so you dont drag the skeg while loading up...

Sorry I don't have an answer to your main question.......I just wanted to say DAMN I bet that water was cold. I am in GA, and our water is still very cold so I am sure your water isn't far from ours. Sorry about your troubles, good luck!

I had my hot wire burn in two one time after being grounded on sandbar after raising the stern and going in reverse to back off. Also had one of my hydraulic lines become loose and leak fluid after some heavy seas. Maybe check power and pump motor.

ok, thanks for the responses. I did some more troubleshooting. i used a meter and have power at the pump itself and the selenoids. i also hard wired the pump direct to the battery and it ran so i know it works. When i hit the switch on the throttle, still no response at all, and no clicking. How do I check power at the trim button on the throttle? I dont see anywhere to put the meter leads....plus i still dont unnderstand how hitting something will make this happen.

Thinking out loud... On my Alpha1 the trim limit switch stops upward movement and is mounted on the drive. I know nothing about OMC Cobras, but is a broken limit switch a possibility?

I think there's a 10 amp breaker on the side of the pump/motor assembly that feeds power to your trim switch, sounds like this could be tripped if the solenoids are not clicking.

ps...Cobra's don't have trim limit switches
