Thanks for the reply, here is my next problem the engine at idle runs smooth ad then all of a sudden it misses huge and then smoothes out again sometimes it does it so bad that it almost and has shut the engine down. i notice you have the same engine i have a 40 hp electric start any tips? also mine did not come with a key switch so i bought a universal switch with a push choke i figured out that the blue wire was choke, brown was starter, red and black was obvious and there were 3 more one was pink which i traced and went to nothing which left a green and white which i knew had to go to the ignition i figured one was ground and one was hot so i wired the green to the mag part of the switch and white to the ground side with the ground wire from the harness directly to the bat and it started fine but wound not kill so i reversed the white and green with the same results. i finally put the white and green together and the ground on the ground part of the switch and then it would kill the engine. i am worried that i shouldn?t have put the white and green together because after that i think my miss got worse.???????
