Just purchased small bay boat with 1985? mariner 115. serial # on transom plate appears to be 08273759. I cannot locate that id or anything close to it on any chart. some help please.

also, purchased manual, for routine maint. pulled plugs they are wet. noticed a small drip of fuel comming from bottom carb. 1 drop approx every 8-10 sec.
motor starts, runs good, idle's fine. what is the best corrective measure.

finally, plugs wires need to be replaced. touched one at idle got zapped. (hair is still standing up and smoking :) can i just pull the wire and replace them.

Re: serial # & wet plugs

1. your 2nd digit is a letter not a number ck again please and let us know
2. probably a inlet driping and needs to be changed
3, Yes they just pull but you need solid wire and spiecal ends Sierra makes a wire kit to repair them.

It's a 1988, the surface gap plugs are always damp at idle.
