She was not a happy camper! But even in the race attire, she looked good marching up pit lane.

Yeah, it was a tough way to go. Don't blame her for being steamed, but then she was not the only one to get 'taken out'. Goes with the turf.

...and then I have to ask myself, if she looked like Rosie O'Donnel, would I care?:p

Re: Poor Danica!

When she took off her helmet she looked like a major thunderstorm. I sure wouldn't want to get on her bad side.

I am soooo sad for her, but she was not the only driver who sat out the end through no fault of her own.

Trouble is, an idiot took her out on the pit road...zero to do with racing...been at it years myself...yeah, stuff happens, but "Rosie" couldn't even waddle too the fence. Done Indy many times...the "staging parks", for the day before they open the infield, etc..is just too much fun night before. Billion fires going every camp out, a massive party. Its the poeple... "What race"?...most watched with a massive hangover..and every road out Indy after the race is "ONE WAY OUT". Too much fun..never been there, don't comment..

Re: Poor Danica!

Someone needs to tell Danica "that's why they call it racing" and to get over it, to look foward to the next week:D

You tell her, Jim.

Sorry, racing is 100% full on concentration of the high dollar job at hand.
The "moment of silence", is meant for those watching...rest got a job to do, and "kinda fired" up..
All stand still for the "Pledge"..least the last 50 years I been racing they did..after that...its the job at hand..off base here...with those thoughts..directed at the wrong people...ever been the other side of the "grandstands? Doubt it ...

Re: Poor Danica!

Other drivers and crews were at least faking it, and not fiddling with their car.
The Indy 500 "IS" a part of Memorial Day. So the least she could do was hold still for what? 10 to 15 seconds at the most!

Crawfordsville Road is a real zoo.

I can show you how to get out of that zoo in under 30 minutes, depend on where you park. Let me know if you're needin direction next time.

Agreed with Scatty, most are there for the party. I've found myself passed out on the infield grass during the race on several occasions.

When I lived in the Chicago suburbs years ago (when things were very lenient rule wise), we would pack the van with beer and food and people, and head out for the "night of insanity" in the overnight staging areas, with everyone tossing a party. Pass out at 3am on a lawn chair, get woke up 2 hours later to get into the infield (we always parked 3-4 turn), then crash for another 4 hours. Then up and back to the party. Probably never did see much of the race, as we would take off and get to see it delayed back home in Illinois.
The way out when over was a zoo, oneway traffic. Remember one day, 2 that were with us walked away to go grab something at some store while we were just sitting there. As it seemed everybody was milling around waiting, thats when it was our turn to move. And no where to pull over. Haralious, people riding on hoods trying to catch up to there ride, the 2 with us we saw running across some field trying ot intersect us on a curve, but never made it. Ended up just hitching a ride back, as most were all heading back to Chicago anyway.
They might have thrown some race, but it was the party people went for.
Just like now with the Bikeweek in Daytona. Racetrack empty, Main Street packed.
Anyway, back to Danica. Media has her pumped up. She lost nothing, all she does is drive, she has already crawled into her private jet and went home. And probably made more money that day than I can dream of..
And any moment of silence I missed anyway too. Heck didn't even remember to change a channel until lap26.
