The gasket between my manifold and riser "broke-through"........alowing raw water to enter the fresh water sid of my FWC system.......this was my problem......not a bad heat exchanger!!!!!
When I built the engine (Rapido Vortec) I replaced the manifolds/risers with a GLM kit I purchased from ebasicpower. When ordering online they ask you if you have a FWC system and they sen you a different "block-off" gasket. The gasket below in an Osco p/n......

This is just a "paper" gasket, didn't seem right when I put it together put I used it anyway..........apparently it got water logged and broke down.....this is what I am summizing......what a mistake!! I could have blown my new engine!
I will post a pic tomorrow...........this stinks.
I now know the Merc P/N is 27-860231..........I called GLM and this is what they gave me.
