Evinrude 45

I've just inherited an Evinrude 45. It doesn't run so I'm trying to figure out the problem(s).

The model number is E5RCIC
Serial Number C7122593

Am I right in thinking this is a 1981 motor which requires 50:1 fuel mixture.

read outboard won't start page 2, also awakening a sleeping outboard.

I don't think your motor is a 45hp engine. As far as I know, there isn't a 45hp, 1981 ERude. Look at the data plate to see if there is a "0" after the "5."

I would take "E50RCIC" to be an Evinrude, 50hp, Rope Start, 1981, Manufacturing Run C motor.

More lousy proofreading, Jay. He has a 4.5, not a 45.

LOL ... well, that makes sense on a couple of levels ... one of which is that I wouldn't want to own a "rope start" 50hp motor! I should have picked up on that.

And, since I am usually proofing my lousy typing and grammar for two days after I post, I shall remain silent on that particular topic!
