What?s next after long storage? 150 EFI

1996 Mercury 150 EFI on Ranger 461VS stored inside for 4 years! It was prepped for storage, just sat much longer than expected. Besides the normal fluids and tune-up items, what do I do? Drain / fresh fuel top of the list. Do I have the injectors cleaned, fuel pump / fuel pressure regulator replaced, or just dive in and start it?

I just started working on my parents' 1979 80HP that's been in the garage for 20 years. It wasn't winterized before it was put away and they left 6 gallons of gas in the tank. This is my first outboard engine project, but so far I've learned: drain the old/dirty fuel, clean fuel pump, carbs and plugs. 4 years isn't THAT long. You'll probably be ok.

Replace the impeller as they can dry rot from sitting. Change the oil the L/U.

Drain & flush the vapor seperater tank, If you turn key on and do not hear the fuel pump come on, turn off so you wont damage driver in ecu. A new pump is high and ecu is higher!!

Sometimes a shot of PB blaster will get the pump going.

I just took the impeller out of my 79 that's been sitting for 20 years. Surprisingly, it's not brittle at all and only slightly bent. I'm going to replace it anyway while I have the bottom apart.
