Engin won't Shut off

I have a 2002 25hp four-stroke Yam that doesn't want to turn off when i tell it to ie turn the key off, even when the lanyard is pulled out of the remote control console. I know the engine is killed via short circuit however when i pull the cover off the console it looks like a nest of snakes with all the wires... so i'm reaching out for a little (lot) of guidance from the wise. Help please!

I have the same problem with my 250 and it was a loose main harness

as that is a mercury marine engine all I can say is in the main harness,if remote, black is ground and white is kill, once on the engine I think it reverts back to black/yellow. I dont see enough of the older motorola systems to have confidence with memory .
its still an ADI type system that shorts the the ECU kill wire to ground.
