Re: 255HP JetSki's & The Clueless

Clueless?? you wanna see clueless?? come to California and go to a place called Castaic Lake..
They have a place designated for Jetski's only. It's amazing to see what they can do to themselves in a small area.. The ski's get faster, but the area is the same size..

Personally I don't see the big deal about em.. as far as owning one.. You drive around, go really fast or slow, you weave in and out.. and then what.. go back to shore and sit and watch others doing the same?? It's just my opinion, but, they seem really boring. My nephews own a couple and they just love em..

Re: 255HP JetSki's & The Clueless

This kind of goes along with the thread.

Here in Canada, there is already a pleasure craft operators license required.

When is the Card Required?
NOW All youth born after April, 1983
NOW All operators of craft under 4 meters (13.12 feet) in length (including PWC?s)
SEPT 15, 2009 ALL OPERATORS MUST HAVE PROOF OF
COMPETENCY ON BOARD

Age and Horsepower restrictions

Operators under the age of 12 and not directly supervised by an adult can operate a vessel with no greater than 10 hp

Operators 12 years of age and over, but under 16 years of age and not directly supervised by an adult can operate a vessel with no greater than 40 hp

Operators 16 years of age and over have no restrictions

I challenge all of you to go to http://safetyafloat.ca/train.html for the free course, read all the material and then tell me that you didn't learn a thing.

This is where I did my exam and even though I grew up on sailboats and lived on one for 14 months during a trip from Lake Superior to the Bahamas and back, I learned a few things that I know will be helpful some day.

Have fun, don't be made fun of!

Out in the Inter Coastal Waterway in Summer Haven,FL. I was in my Families 1967 Boston Whaler the same boat you see on my Avatar. Well anyways i was doing bout' 24MPH and some jet skiers come up behind me and the are jumping my wake and that is just pissing me off because i think its very dangerous. And anyways the guy is not paying any attention to the traffic coming in the opposite direction so he almost caused one heck of a crash. NOW is that stupid or what?

Uh, how many states?

:D

I think they were referring to the 50 States & 1 district, Washington DC, plus the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, a self-governing unincorporated territory of the United States.

These are jurisdictions that fall under their control.

Why they refer to them as 52 States is beyond me, but I won't/don't argue with the US Coast Guard when it comes to such trivial matters. Uhhu, what ever you say buddy. Your the boss.

The RXP is 215 hp....the new RXP-X is 255 hp and they are both supercharged. This is actually the sickest ski ever put together.

http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=194700&highlight=twin+turbo

It is a 2008 Kawasaki 15F Twin Turbo built by Farthing Racing for this years World Finals. It is approx 500 hp and will be raced by Dustin Farthing. The money that is put into this ski and the R&D for it is crazy. Ski's like this are not available to the public and with the price that it would be to build it, will never be.

BOARDING VESSELS AND TOWING

When boarding a vessel, probable cause is required by 13 states. Forty-four states allow marine enforcement officers to randomly inspect vessels for safety. Only Mississippi prohibits marine enforcement officers from towing distressed vehicles. Fifty-two states (all but Florida, Maine, South Dakota and Virginia) allow citations for ?negligent operation? of watercraft.

It varies from State to State. Questions about your State?

Look here:
http://uscgboating.org/regulations/Nasbla_Ref_Guide_6.pdf

On page 50, is a table with all States listed and their corresponding laws for searching, boarding, and towing.

Know your rights, and those of your States ?LEA? before you blow your top.

52 States ....REALLY? when did this happen?

If you will read the post, three post before your post, I think you will find your answer.

But I will repost it for you. Those were their terms, not mine. Don't ask me why the called them all states.

Here goes, once again ...

Re: 255HP JetSki's & The Clueless

I am really tired of this old dead thread. It went in so many different directions, that in the end, there was nothing of value in it what so ever.

For those that want to argue, go ahead, but without me. I am canceling my updates to this thread.

For those that want to scream about your constitutional rights, be my guest, but like it or not, you may be doing so in handcuffs on the way to your new cell.

For those that have a wife, that owns a Pilate's studio, runs 10 miles a day and is HOT, not to mention very well educated, please post bikini photos in the "Boating, Activities and Destinations" thread. :D

For those that don't like the USCG's wording in my post, I rewrote it for them, and you.

If you actually ride it like they were made. Flipping jumping then they are a full day of fun. And you will feel like you got beat up for a few days? Thats why i bought them and how i ride them.

Re: 255HP JetSki's & The Clueless

Makes me think about last July was at a friends house lighting and firing some little dynamites which is illegal to shoot fireworks in the city kinda loud but in no way dangerous unless you hold them so I get this smart *** lady cop hassling me now i have no problem with her calling me out on the 90 dollar firework fine but what bothers me was that the entire time i was shooting them and while she was hassling me and my friends there were four motor cycles racing up and down this four lane road in front of his house. I dont know why she was messing with me not endangering ppl but left the racers doing well over 100 mph running laps go free.
