I have an 87' Mercury 115 H.P. Recently repaired a crack in the lower unit housing. In order to do so, I had to drop down the lower unit. I didn't pay attention to what gear it was in. I repaired the crack, and reassembled everything. I started up the engine, and now it's stuck in forward gear. Should I lower it down again, put the shifter in neutral, and then tuen the shaft until it locks in-what's the standard procedure?
