I have a new alumacraft 18 footer with a new 115hp e-tec engine.. last week it started to lean down on the port side at speeds over 15 mph.. I have checked the prop, lower unit and even crawled under the boat to look to see if there was a dent..

i lost the plug and the boat took on a lot of water before i got a new plug back in.. is it possible i have water trapped in the hull..

Re: Boat leans

First off, when boat is on trailer jack up the front ,allow all water to drain...give it a day. Second ,under the cavatation plate on your motor (flat plate above prop) there is a zinc anadode, its shaped like a fin...where is it pointing?12-o'clock? it should be off set to allow for prop torque, move it 2 spaces to the port side of the boat (10 o'clock) give it a try and see if this corrects it,if not or it gets worse move it 1-2 more places,or switch to the 2 o'clock. Good Luck.

Re: Boat leans

have you tried adjusting the trim, tucked too far under pushes the bow down, and waves have more bit to control the boat, try trimming out some.

Re: Boat leans

i had the same problem with my 25' monterey and these great guys in the forum helped me correct it... my trim wasn't adjusted correctly so thats how i fixed my lean, with the help of trim tabbing as well... at the very bottom of these pages are "related topics"

check those out too for some more info.
