I am working on a pontoon boat that has a wiring issue. The boat is a 1994 as well as the motor. There is a purple double wire comming off the ignition switch.I know one of them go to the eletric choke. The other I am not sure but as soon as you hook it up it blows the fuse back at the motor.I know it goes back to the motor. That wire also hook to a beeper ,like its a alarm for the choke and?

Well this is how far I have got.The double purple wire comming off the ignition switch,One wire goes to the voltage regulator and the other goes to vro? I think it a oil pump..Is there any way to test this vro?

The purple wire is the 12 volt wire when the key is turned on, what they call the B+ wire. It supplies 12 volts to the accessories (primer solenoid, tach, dash lights etc) and also runs back to the regulator.

Unhook the purple at each of the places it runs to rather than where it came from (key switch). As you hook them back up you'll narrow it down.

BTW - you don't have a VRO. Calling it that may lead to misinformation. You're fine calling it the oil injection pump.

I am going out there tonight to work on it some more. I have disconnected the wires for the dash so I know its not that.I am kind of thinking it might be the oil injection pump. With the key on and the voltage regulator unpluged it wont pop the fuse.I am bringing a amp clamp over ther to test it out and see what I come up with.
