2006 60hp EFI Fuel Pump Issues??

Anyone else with this motor have the fuel pump go out within the first 10-15 hours on the motor? I hope it is an isolated issue and not a sign of things to come with the Merc...

I just got my engine back today from the dealer due to the fuel pump failing. However, the fuel pump failed again within the first 20 minutes. This engine has less then 20 hours on it, and it has stranded me twice where I needed to rely on other boaters to tow me to the boat landing. I'm at a loss right now. Any ideas??????

Did they replace it under warranty?

Sounds like it may be a bad batch.

Yes, they replaced it under warranty. It appears that the second issues was a loose wire on the fuel pump. According to the dealer, the pin was not set correct...If it happens again, they stated that the only way to fix the issue would be to replace the wiring harness, which is a rather large process. If it comes down to that, I think that I will be asking for a new engine. They can replace the wiring harness on their own time. Summers are to short up here in Minnesota!
