I have a couple of goofy comments though I know nothing of that mercruiser.
1. That's a pretty good load for a v6 chevy to pull.
2. The "all it needs is a starter" comment would be instant "run for the street" for me.
3. Buying a used boat like that from a closeby neighbor might not be a good idea and make for some hard feelings. I wouldn't find it too much fun to drive by someone's house every day and think to myself what a shaft someone put to me on a boat deal.
4. A 20yr. old fiberglass boat with an inboard/outboard is just no fun to me. I bought one a couple of years ago that was in really nice shape but I was really glad I got rid of it a year later. I'm thankful that I didn't lose much on it when I sold it.
I agree with most of the above----Wanting is better than GETTING on that one. I'd keep looking. I bet it would be a thirsty on the gas rascal, too.
