I have a 9.9 Johnson Sea Horse that I don't know the year of. The Model No. is TJ10ELESC. I'm having some problems with it starting when it sits for an hour or more, but when I get it started it really runs fine. Is it fuel line, or carburetor, or? Can anyone help?

Thanks for the info.
I usually turn the ignition key while activating the choke with the accelerator extended a little. If I do this within 15 minutes to 30 minutes the motor usually starts right up, but if its a longer period then I have to try and try. Most often when I check the gas line bulb for firmness I squeeze it a couple times to be sure its firm. Sometimes i don't use the choke though and it starts right up.

I understand what you mean, I think.

That could happen if the tank is higher than the engine but not if the tank is lower, unless the vent is being shut and the tank is presurisng in the sun.
