Don't know what sort of water and water congestion you have there in central CT. Kayaking is great fun.

Planning to go to college? A TV would be nice to have in a dorm room.

Kayak....when you get to college, buy a cheap TV on Craigslist. Kayaks are still expensive on Craigslist (I know cuz I've been watching for one for my dad). I watched way too much TV in college. That may explain why I had to go back again a few years later :)

Go with the kayak. TV's break, become obsolete fairly quickly, and frankly nowadays you can't take advantage of all the advances in the technology without buying expensive peripheral gear (Blu-Ray DVD player, HD Cable/Satellite feed, gaming console). All you need to take advantage of a kayak is water!

Turn off the TV and get outside!

Everyone has a TV (big deal), but not many have a Kayak.

Go with the Kayak! A Kayak is a good way to stay in shape, and a great way to clear your head at the same time.

Kayaks are cool & women like water guys, not TV guys.

My brother bought a new canoe this year and keeps it rack mounted on the top of his truck, just in case he sees some interesting water, he can just throw it in, and go.

He said every time he stops somewhere, some pretty young thing comes over to talk to him about it. He's met four new female boating partners this way in the last two months. :D

Kayak for sure. As stated above, craigslist sellers practically pay you to take their TV's. Also there will be a flood of them once the digital thing happens next February. Just be sure to get in line for one of the gubment adaptor boxes.

Take it with you and stick it in the closet, you won't need it for anything else. Clothes go on the floor when your in college. :D Be warned, this rule does change later though.

If your going to college, then I would really really go for the Kayak.

I spent so much time looking at a computer monitor that the last thing I needed, was to then get up and go “vegetable” on the coach in front of the TV. There will always be one in the near, if you feel like you need to turn off the brain, and they are cheap to pick up around colleges.

Save the big digital flat screen suround system for the theater room in the house you build after you get your degree in "Construction Management"!

The Kayak you picked has a great form. I think I would like one of those myself.

I can't tell you whether or not it would be OK. I only have experience with “Sea Kayaks” made for open water. I would by a little worried in the one you have picked out.

In protected waters, small lakes and streams it should be a lot of fun though.
