I believe my u joint bellows is cracked. I will be pulling the outdrive to replace it and was wondering what would be recommended as far as replacing while i was in there. Where would I find the part numbers and so on. 1977 Mark Twain 165 hp 250 cubic inch inline 6 and what I believe is a pre alpha outdrive. Brian

Go to the top of this page and click on "Mercruiser IO Parts"

You will need the bellows, gimbal bearing, ujoints, possibly the yoke on the drive side and the seals and oring for the input shaft of the drive. Some special tools and the OEM manuals.

Since I don't have a clue what links you got, it's impossible to say if you have the right ones or not. Do you have the link for manual #2?

Yes it is manual #2. This is a huge file. Is there any way to save it or purchase it so I don't have to wait for it to load all the time. Brian

Once it downloads click the little "disk looking" icon in the upper left. It will say "Save a copy". Then you will have it on your computer and it won't have to download.
