I have a 1981 15hp seaking by chrysler water pump went out and overheated then shut down. It still starts and runs good but I need to replace the impeller and found one on ebay. Is there anything else I need to replace in the cooling system? One more thing can I take a carb of a 20 hp seaking and use it on the 15hp, and what would this acomplish? Thanks.

On replacing the impeller look for chunks in the pickup tube to the powerhead. The carb will fit but you won't see much of any change. You will have to get into boring and strokin to get more power. If yours works why mess with it.Jerry

Thanks, That's what I needed to know. Do you know if I need a lower seal unit when I replace the impeller?

if pulling the lower unit off, i would reccomend a seal kit for it. just avoid the problems if its down you might as well do it and not take a chance

Chryslers typically don't have a seal in the water pump. Here is a diagram for parts. Item 47 is a metal plate.
