it will go in forward gear but if you give it any gas it feels like your in neutral.
also I don't have that "clunck" when you put it in forward only in reverse.
hoping its not the lower unit.
When it happened I was crusing at about 30 mph and it was like someone
put it in neutral.Any suggestions or help please:confused::confused:

also how can you tell if the prop hub is spun

Well, it could be the hub in the propeller slipping, I suppose. Check the shift cable to make sure it is really shifting into forward. If so, change the prop to a known good one.

With the boat on the trailer, out of the water, not running, put it in forward, try to turn the prop, if it free spins adjust the shift cable till it doesn't. If it won't lock up in forward, but will in reverse it is time to tear it apart probably.

do as suggested in last post.... the prop should be free in one direction with a click and not free the other direction,, thats normal
good luck

if it used to work and now doesnt it might be in the lower unit and not the linkage, if it still "clunks" into reverse then the prop should be fine.
