What year is my mercury engine?

Hi , Just got a 3.9 mercury for my small boat . Can someone tell me the year ? serial # is 1797786 thanks , Zildjian

1797786 is a one cyl 1965 model.

try oldmercs.com. That is a great site for older mercury outboards and does have manuals. ebay also might, but that is probably a long shot.
