140 engine problem

i have 85 140 gm block is leaking water from lifter/pushrod cover on engine. any suggestions would be great.

If you have water coming from there, then you have water in the oil. Pull the dipstick - is the oil milky?

You have water leaking from the side of the motor starboard side pushrod cover? Or the valve cover top of the motor?

theres no water in oil checked dipstick and oil was low a quart but no water

Ayuh,....

The Only thing behind that Cover, is the Oil cavity...
It Can't leak Water....
Matter of fact,... That whole side of the Block is Dry.....

Must be dripping down from the Head.....

maybe blown head gasket or cracked head only does leak when in water not when on muffs
