7513 makes it a 1953 7.5hp.

Fuel mix will be 24:1 using a TCW-3 spec oil

7512 and 7513 are both 1953. I suspect 7513 is long shaft, but not positive about that.
The Evinrude service manual says 16:1 on the mix for that one. Unofficially, I think there was a problem with one of the rods getting enough oil.

While you can buy parts online from a variety of marinas that specialize in old outboards and ebay, in my opinion your best bet is to visit the antique outboard motor club - AOMCI.org. They have a free classified area, and there are tons of people who know gobs of stuff about your classic outboard.

good luck and have fun, OMC motors from the 50's are easy to work on and part are pretty easy to come by.

I think you are going to be very hard pressed to find parts for that motor in general! A '53 has got a few years behind it and if you are having trouble finding parts for it, you are probably going to have to find a similar '53 motor to canabalize!

As said, www.aomci,org Be specific, exactly what do you need? Best favor you can do yourself is get a parts book. You would be surprised, some parts are still available from Evinrude. But dealers won't give you the time of day unless you come in armed with the part number. Then all they have to do is collect your money and order the part that you asked for.
