Some of you may remember back in January, my BIL found out that his girl friend ripped him off for around $68,000. Well,,,,,he let her stay hoping to get some of his money back.

This past week and this weekend he is at a county fair doing his concession work. My youngest daughter rents the apartment above him. She called and said that his GF hasn't moved her car since last Saturday and that she hasn't seen her either.

Just a bit ago, my wife went to his house. His neighbor came out to meet my wife. They pushed open the bathroom window and found her lying dead on the floor. Looks as if she finally succeeded in committing suicide.

Now my BIL is all upset, in a different part of the state, and his health is not the best. He can't leave because he counts on that income for during the winter months.

She was served papers last week for the credit card fraud. I just don't know what to think.

A few prayers for my BIL Larry sure would be appreciated. I'm doing okay, but that is about it. Just don't like having teary eyes...............a very sad SS

I offer my condolences, its terrible what severe debt (among other things) can do to a person.

Sorry to hear SS, my prayers to you, and your family. By the way, I had a distant cousin who did the same thing, he was unemployed, and slowly sinking further, & further, into debt, being a bit of a drinker, I guess that didn't help, he finally took the ultimate solution,,, So sad!

Re: Got that sunken feelin

First let me say I feel for you all SS. I've been there.
I never understood that whole thing though. I guess you have to grow up poor to realize that money is not everything. No matter how deep you are in trouble you can always start over again. I've had to (damn ex-wife).
All it does is hurt the one's around you and the one who does it will miss out on a beautiful day like today and all the rest of them that will be coming. Nothing is worth that. :(

Re: Got that sunken feelin

Thanks guys. Shortly after I posted, I headed down to the Knox county fair so he could get back to his house and take care of the situation. Guess I can be called a Carney now :D. Man is that a rough job to do. Got his camper and concession trailers back to his house this morning. For once,,,,,,,I didn't miss my weekend on the boat. It was worth all the hassle just to help him out.

Why do people go crazy over the property when someone passes. Its not a free for all. That is what probate court is for when there isn't a will.

Two years ago he bought her a Buick that was a 2001. Now that she is gone, her sister and mother came to get the car. Larry told them that he was instructed by his attorney to keep everything until probate court. Later that night they came back and sliced all 4 tires. With him not married to her (even though they lived together for 16 years) her surviving family will get the car. At least that is the way it works unless your married. So guess they will have to put tires on the car. How stupid,,,,,,of course her side of the family is into drugs/alcohol also. They appear not to be so saddened by her death by their actions on wanting her things.

Larry took her back when they kicked her out of their house back in January. Larry has a big heart and will help anyone who needs it. He is a bit too trust worthy and gets taken at times.

Now to go check on my boat, do a bit of fishing and relax from the drama......Thanks again...........SS
